International Space Station

The ISS orbits the earth every 90 minutes at an altitude of about 370km.  It is very bright in the evening sky (brighter than Venus) and moves across the sky very quickly (about 3 degrees per second at its maximum).  Catching a pic of it is more a matter of good luck than good management. This image was taken using a Meade LX90-8 with a colour videocamera at 2000 mm focal length, on the 22nd November 2010 at 9:18pm, from Werrington, NSW.
