The Crab Nebula (M1)

 

This is the Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant in the constellation Taurus.  Taken at Linden Observatory, in the Blue Mountains, on the 12th December 2013 at 2:58am, using the Evans 30" telescope and a Grasshopper Express video camera.  It is a stack of 46 images each of 5 seconds. No darks, flats, or post processing. Levels adjusted for screen display only.
